Spanish club student Cassandra Gracia, sponsor Laney Deckard, and GHS graduate Malarie Williams visited Costa Rica over spring break. They hiked and kayaked around Volcano Arenal, volunteered at a wildlife rescue center, toured a coffee plantation, ziplined through the cloud forest, swam in the Pacific Ocean at Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, saw lots of monkeys, iguanas, and coatis, and people-watched downtown in the capital city of San Jose. They learned a lot about language and culture, made friends from other schools across the United States, and made memories that will last a lifetime. #FuelingTheFuture

Before spring break, students researched and created museum exhibits on the technologies developed and used during World War I. On Monday, they completed a gallery walk to learn about the innovations and inventions and how they impacted the war. #FuelingTheFuture

IMPORTANT Dual Credit Scholarship Update:
We were recently informed that the number of general education Dual Credit Scholarships available for next year has been reduced for Juniors and Seniors from 2 to 1 per year. (The 2 Work Ready Scholarships are still available, for a total of 3 scholarships). If your student has registered for next year's Dual Credit Classes, please have them meet with Dr. Brantley to ensure a scholarship is available to cover their tuition costs. If a scholarship is not available, you can choose to pay for the class out of pocket, which is significantly cheaper than paying for it when your student goes to college (e.g., $295 vs. $1456.50 at WKU). Or, we can look at other class options for your student.

South Central Rural Telecommunications Cooperative, working with the Foundation for Rural Service, named Glasgow High School student Trace Brooking as its 2026 winner of the FRS Youth Tour. The program gathers more than 100 students from rural communities across the country for a multi-day visit to the nation’s capital.
Over four days in June, Brooking and other participants are scheduled to explore Washington, D.C., hear from experts at the Federal Communications Commission and members of Congress, and discuss ways to improve rural communities. #FuelingTheFuture
